Celebrated on the 27^{th of} June every year. A day to praise this wonderful tropical fruit and its health benefits.

Pineapples are a summertime favourite, both sweet & tart. Crammed full of nutrients & antioxidants to improve digestion & boost the immune system.

The pineapple is indigenous to South America, where it has been cultivated for many centuries. First introduced to Europe in the 17^th Century where it was considered the ultimate luxury.

Pineapples can be eaten as is or used in cooking. Although usually used in desserts, pineapples can also be used in savoury dishes. The juice is often used in marinades because it contains bromelain, an enzyme that tenderizes meat. It is also the key ingredient in some cocktails such as the Pina Colada.

There are so many ways to celebrate – enjoy fresh or canned pineapple, cook something yummy with pineapple, or drink a tall glass of low calorie, high fibre, nutrient packed pineapple juice.
