IT’S BEER DAY BRITAIN!
National Beer Day has arrived. Celebrated on June 15th to mark the 800th anniversary signing of the Magna Carta – a day in the 13th Century when a group of English barons forced King John of England to agree to changes in how England worked. This pact also standardized the measurement of beer, ale, and wine throughout the country.
Beer is not just beer to the British. Our shores are the birthplace of some of the most iconic kinds of beers, stouts, lagers, pale ales, & ciders. We have been brewing beer since the beginning of time.
NBD was established in 2015 by beer educator and sommelier, Jane Peyton. She also co-wrote the ‘Cheers to Beer’s anthem, which is sung by Brits at 7.p.m to honour the National Day of Beer.
Need a better excuse to head to your favourite pub garden to enjoy a cold one? Celebrate this glorious day and toast to the rich history of beer and our great nation!
