Pizza Prep Tables: The Secret to Easy Pizza Assembly.

Refrigerated prep tables are essential pieces of restaurant equipment for any foodservice business. They combine the necessity of a refrigerator with a convenient work surface so you can quickly and easily assemble your ingredients to create signature dishes. Pizza Prep tables come in a variety of sizes and styles with a whole host of different internal components. With so many options, finding the perfect unit can be a challenge.

Which model to choose?

You will need to carefully consider whether you want a table with drawers, doors (solid or glass), or a combination of both.

Units with doors have a refrigeration cavity very similar to reach-in equipment, complete with robust shelves that can hold a wide variety of foods. Available in either 2,3 or 4 door models and with solid or glass doors (BLIZZARD HBC4CR )

Units with drawers generally come with less refrigeration space, but each drawer is laid out to hold GN pans, making them easier to access when it’s time to swap out empty pans from the top storage area. (Sterling Pro Cobus SPU201-4D)

Units with a combination of doors and drawers gives the operator the best of both worlds. (ATOSA EPF3490GR features 1 door and 7 ambient drawers)

Additional Features:

Pizza prep tables also come with different tops to accommodate the amount of workspace needed. The most basic models have a granite or stainless-steel worktop over a cabinet space (Sterling Pro Cobus SPU201) ideal for slicing ingredients & assembling pies. There are also units with worktops & upstands (BLIZZARD BPB1500), and models with optional add-on (Blizzard TOP2000CR) or built-in refrigerated prep tops that accepts G/N containers. These wells are great for holding common pizza toppings, from pepperoni and cheese to green pepper and ham. Models with a lift-up lid over the prep top (ATOSA MPF8203), enclose this prep top to trap in cold air and maintain proper, food safe temperatures. This is especially helpful when not actively in use.

The construction of these units is designed with commercial use in mind. The top, front, sides & interiors of this prep tables are of high grade stainless-steel and are fortified with foamed-in-place insulation. Not only does the stainless-steel construction look great in your prep area, but it is also easy to clean and resists corrosion for a long product life. The insulation also helps to promote proper temperature retention and adds structural rigidity for a long-lasting product.

Heavy-duty castors are also included giving the convenience of mobility, making cleaning, and servicing a breeze! Just roll the unit away from the wall.

High-quality performance is made possible by powerful refrigeration systems, which maintains ideal temperatures. As a bonus, the temperature controller features are easy-to-use digital interfaces, and defrost feature is automatic to simplify maintenance.

Other factors to consider:

Deciding the proper size of your prep unit is essential for one obvious reason – it needs to fit where you want to put it. We carry pizza prep tables that range in size from compact to the very large, each size comes with its own benefits. Smaller tables offer a smaller footprint to businesses with limited space with the trade-off of less overall storage space within the unit, while larger tables are just the opposite – it’s harder to find a convenient space for them, but they come with lots of interior room to spare.

Generally, the more demand your business has, the larger you’ll want your prep table to be. Another factor that may affect your size consideration is how many ingredients you use when you prepare food. If you’re going to hold lots of different ingredients at one time, it would be better to go for a larger table to keep every ingredient you need close at hand.

Whether you need to fit out a school cafeteria, Italian restaurant or small pizzeria, a dedicated counter table will streamline the whole pizza prep process. Check out our inventory of Pizza prep counters or call us for some free, no obligation advice.
