A: Have you thought of buying B-grade equipment?

Buying new commercial catering equipment can be a big investment, prices range from a few hundred to thousands of pounds. New kitchen equipment has the latest features, but it also has the highest price tag.

If you shop smart, there are ways to offset the costs, such as buying some of your equipment as B-Graded. Often a fraction of the price, buying Graded equipment can be a great way of saving money when starting a new business or expanding an existing one.

B-Grades, as rated by the manufacturer, may have minor cosmetic damage like small dents or scratches caused in transit. Or perhaps be an order sent to a customer who has then returned it, unused but without the packaging. Neither instance affecting the performance and quality of the item, and in most cases a warranty is still provided.  These items are then discounted to reflect the ‘not quite new’ condition and could give you the opportunity to make some substantial savings.
