When it’s scone, its scone!
National Cream Tea Day is celebrated on the last Friday in June, taking place on the 30th this year.
Now celebrating its ninth year, the NCTD was founded by Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream and Wilkins and Sons Tiptree through their joint organisation, The Cream Tea Society. These jam and cream experts donate 50,000 portions of jam & cream each year to support fundraisers and charities to hold their own cream tea events.
To date, this has helped to raise over £1.2 million for hundreds of charities across the U.K.
Businesses, hotels, tearooms, café’s etc. take part by offering discounts and promotions on cream teas allowing people to gather with friends, colleagues and family to share the love of a scone, jam, clotted cream & tea whilst raising money for some very worthy causes.
Now, is it the jam before the clotted cream, or the cream before the jam?
